Blue Bajan was useful on the flat and has now rewarded his trainer's patience over hurdles with a smooth success under similarly testing conditions when successful at Leicester last month, a win that he is taken to follow up here, getting the vote over Akarem and Jardin De Vienne. The last mentioned is relatively unexposed and has to be respected with Noel Chance's runners coming into form. Alan King's Shipmaster is probably better than he showed at Lingfield last time but has yet to prove that he handles ground this testing. Vince Smith's Just Intersky has come good on the flat recently and could be of interest back over hurdles, while King In Waiting was useful on the level but would need to improve on his debut effort over timber to trouble the judge. Akarem was decent on the level and has shown progressive form over hurdles so has to be respected on a surface that should suit but preference is for Blue Bajan.
