Sainted has yet to race on fast ground but won at Newmarket last time and is upped in class along with recent Kempton winner Battlement. Both have enough scope to cope in this higher grade but QUICK N QUIRKY may prove better value. She was beaten less than a length in a Class 3 contest at York last time and should confirm running with Company Asset. Aqua Libre and Al Shahaniya face easier tasks having both failed to figure in the same Class 2 handicap at Newmarket earlier this month while Hawatif went close at Leicester recently but will find this tougher.
Aqua Libre 25-1 (8-8) Slowly away in rear, ridden 2f out, kept on final furlong, never nearer, 6th of 12, 5 1/4l behind Mise En Rose (9-1) at Newmarket 7f hcp fll (2) gf in Jul.
Quick N Quirky (IRE) 8-1 (8-12) Held up tracking leaders, headway over 1f out, ridden and went 3rd inside final furlong, stayed on well in closing stages, not quite pace to challenge, 3rd of 9, 1/4l behind Dawaa (9-8) at York 7f hcp (3) gd in Jul.
Penny Dreadful 20-1 (8-11) Led, ridden and headed 2f out, soon edged right and weakened, last of 9, 17 1/2l behind Dancing Star (8-10) at Goodwood 6f hcp fll (3) gd in Jun.
Hawatif (IRE) 10-3 (9-0) Led, hard ridden when pressed over 1f out, headed well inside final furlong, no extra, 2nd of 7, 3/4l behind Subtle Knife (9-12) at Leicester 7f hcp fll (4) gd in Jul.
Company Asset (IRE) 13-2 (8-13) Held up in rear, headway on wide outside tracking leaders 3f out, hung right and ridden 2f out, soon struggling, kept on again towards finish, no threat, 5th of 9, 3 1/2l behind Dawaa (9-8) at York 7f hcp (3) gd in Jul.
Al Shahaniya (IRE) 14-1 (8-5) Close up, ridden and headway over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong, 7th of 12, 5 1/4l behind Mise En Rose (9-1) at Newmarket 7f hcp fll (2) gf in Jul.
