Having lost his way over hurdles, Away For Slates appears to have taken to fences and ended a long losing run at Catterick last week. He does have a penalty to carry, however, so is no certainty to follow up. Thyne For Gold still looks a few pounds too high while Mont Royale is in need of a confidence-booster. CRUISEAWEIGH was pulled up on his fencing bow and reappearance at Newbury but that will have blown away any cobwebs and Tom George’s gelding has the scope to be better than these.
