        Verdict

        Aidan O’Brien has sent out four of the last six winners and bids to repeat last year’s success with HIGHLAND REEL. He had Ulysses back in fourth last year and beat Sir Michael Stoute’s charge and Decorated Knight when successful in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Ascot in June. The latter pair have both won Group 1 contests subsequently so the form looks out of the top drawer. Stable companion Cliffs Of Moher has struggled since runner-up in the Derby while another Ballydoyle runner in Seventh Heaven has plenty to find at this level along with Andre Fabre’s Talismanic. The home team’s challenge looks to be led by Beach Patrol, who looked better than ever stepped up to 1m4f last time and beating stablemate Fanciful Angel and previous Grade 1 winners Sadler’s Joy and Oscar Performance in the process.
