Democracy has had all three starts on this track, scoring on heavy ground before well beaten in Group company on quicker going. He'll be happier in this company and conditions will see him difficult to beat. NEO SMART's opening neck defeat by the subsequently unbeaten Porta Fortuna here on heavy ground in April is the stand-out form of the race. She hasn't had similar conditions subsequently so in the hope of more rain Jim Bolger's filly could be the one to beat. Ocean Baroque was always up with the pace when scoring over the minimum at Navan and won't be inconvenienced by the step-up in trip but Lia Fail got up in the dying strides over 7f at Down Royal. Fairyhouse winner Prince X J had little chance behind River Tiber in the Coventry but Oligopoly was in the lead at this trip when tackling 7f at Gowran.
