Verdict
One Cool Poet, who created history with a hat-trick of handicap victories at the Galway Festival, was due to run in the 2.30 at Leopardstown yesterday. NUMERIAN has only won at Dundalk but has competed well in three major handicaps this summer. He was staying on over a mile here last time and, with the longer trip in his favour, can gain his first victory on Turf. Jim Bolger runs Cuban Hope and Bold Approach with Kevin Manning on board the lightly-raced latter, who has run in two Group 3 races since a debut victory at Leopardstown. Galway Hurdle winner Tudor City didn't run as well at York though is still on a very lowly mark while War Diary is another looking well enough treated, though may be better suited by further. Nickajack Cave ran a fine race over the course and distance in June but couldn't handle the step up to Group 3 company last time.
