Verdict
Having won this in 2018 and 2019, Charlie Appleby knows what it takes and Native Trail has looked smart in both starts despite only scrambling home in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket. He’ll improve further but will need to if he’s to trouble POINT LONSDALE. The beautifully-bred son of Australia has hardly broken sweat in his latest starts in Group company here and at Leopardstown and a five-timer beckons. Ebro River came here for the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes over 6f and made most and battled on strongly on ground with plenty of give. He could do with some rain and Duke De Sessa impressively landed a mile maiden here on soft ground.
