METICULOUS won a bumper on good going and though disappointing so far over hurdles today's conditions can enable him to get off the mark as he stays the trip judging by his penultimate run at Thurles. Both he and Barbary Master were a long way behind Lady Breffni in a Fairyhouse handicap last month and the latter had run very well in his two previous starts over 2m4f on testing ground. The lightly-raced Don't Matter Now has only encountered testing conditions though won't have a problem staying the trip but Grange Island has never raced beyond 2m3f. Dual point-to-point winner Sovereign Gold has been chasing and finding 2m4f too short. She has plenty going for her here and looks set to get into contention.
