But DESERT ACE went close at Carlisle last time and, given he won on soft ground earlier in the year, Iain Jardine’s charge gets the nod to come out best. Captain Lars has a shout off his current mark and is better drawn than Ballesteros, a runner-up here last time, while Blithe Spirit usually goes well here but has had no luck with the draw once again.
