Trainer Mark Brisbourne looks to hold the key to this race as both of his runners, Cheshire Prince and New Star are fancied, and preference is for New Star. The selection has got course and distance winning form but the reason we prefer him to his stablemate today is his ability to handle cut in the ground. His form has been a bit hit and miss this season but he looks to have conditions in his favour today and he should run a big race. Cheshire Prince wasn't beaten far here last time but the ground is against him today and the draw is also far from ideal. Piper's Song has been in decent form of late but he has the worst of the draw here and he will need some luck to get competitive. Drawn Gold is lightly-raced, the stable are in decent form and he has run well here in the past. His draw could have been kinder but he will handle the ground and he is respected. Mark Brisbourne won this race in 2002 with Luxor and he can repeat the feat here with New Star who is forwarded as our pick.
