    In depth

    Verdict

AMALFI BAY went close over 1m2f at Nottingham on his reappearance but completed a double over today’s longer trip at Epsom last summer so gets the nod with an apprentice taking 7lb off his back. Maxine finished a long way behind the selection last time and would prefer some cut in the ground while Cogital is best over further nowadays having placed over 2m at Ascot recently. Thai Power should have come on for a recent return from a lengthy absence, however, and is preferred to Mille Miglia.
