Verdict

Knight's Gate made a winning start in handicaps with a victory at Bath but that was over the minimum trip. Newton Jack is getting closer and found only one too good over track and trip last time but CITY ESCAPE (NAP) is preferred. The latter makes her handicap bow having finished a close-up fourth at Lingfield on her reappearance and a bold bid is expected from Rae Guest’s filly. Corofin drops in class and stablemate Arafi is helped by an apprentice’s allowance while Barking Mad has won off a higher mark on the all-weather.
