The weakness of this of this race is shown by the fact that Holly Walk is likely to be favourite and reluctantly she gets the vote ahead of Devito and Caspian Dusk. The last mentioned was probably the best of these on the flat but his stamina for hurdling is of concern, especially on this ground and Bill Turner's gelding is probably best left out of calculations. Devito has shown promise in three starts over hurdles but faces no easy task giving weight away all round, while the only winning hurdler in the field Soleil d'Hiver has been well beaten since scoring at Hexham and is unreliable. Bosco gave little sign of encouragement on his debut while Ginger McCain's Chickapeakray has been well held in all three starts so far. That leaves us with Holly Walk who has run with consistency in similar company of late and gets the vote to gain a deserved success in this grade.
