Verdict

Thomas Patrick remains thrown in on past form and showed a bit more last time at Ffos Las, though was still beaten 10 lengths. Poldark Cross was no match for Thursday’s Kim Muir Fulke Walwyn winner Chambard at Fontwell last month but this looks a bit easier. Gats And Co got off the mark over fences over a longer trip here last month, as did Mr Katanga, but the former has been raised 10lb and the latter is 14lb higher. STRAIGHT SWAP may have been unsettled by an early mistake on his chasing bow at Taunton but got back into contention before his efforts took their toll in the closing stages. He will have learned plenty from that and did win over hurdles here in January.
