Verdict
New King opened his account for the Gosden yard with a victory over a mile at Wolverhampton but steps up in trip under a penalty. THEMAXWECAN is also penalised but he made a winning start over today’s distance at Beverley in October when beating a subsequent Newmarket handicap winner and Mark Johnston’s colt looks potentially useful on that form. Holy Kingdom and Ring Cycle are likely improvers while Godolphin run a couple of newcomers worth noting. American Graffiti and Kinver Edge cost €320,000 and $350,000 respectively though both have already been gelded while Blood Eagle is related to a German Derby winner and is another to monitor.
