Shrink is selected to reel off a hat-trick in a very open affair, with La Vie Est Belle, The Leather Wedge and Pulse just three lively dangers. There are many in with chances, but it is hard to ignore the claims of Shrink despite her six-pound penalty. Michael Dods's filly is lumbered with that burden after beating La Vie Est Belle at Thirsk on Monday. That came on the back of a win in a fillies' handicap at Newcastle at the weekend, and she now attempts a third success in the space of eight days. Although strictly speaking, La Vie Est Belle is entitled to turn the tables, it always pays to follow a filly in foal as it seems to make them blossom, and as she can still run until mid-July, the daughter of Mind Games should continue to be followed. Others who can play a part include The Leather Wedge who produced a game performance to score narrowly at Hamilton, and Pulse who was not far behind the day's good thing High Ridge at Bath last week. Parkside Pursuit, Sir Loin and Kangarilla Road should all be noted in the market, but Shrink is thriving at present and with a perfect draw in stall one to help, she is the one to beat.
