Much will depend here on how good Hansard is. By a Canadian sire, he cost $600,000 as a foal and was obviously not intended to be running at somewhere like Catterick. However, David Loder has his team in superb form at the moment and it would be no surprise to see him land this. Of the remainder, Tanafus probably makes most appeal. Fourth in a fair race at Haydock on his second and final outing last year, he gives the impression he will be better over a longer trip than today's seven furlongs and may be best in handicaps, while Jenavive was very green on her debut at Pontefract and is almost certainly capable of better. However, we think Hansard will prove tough to beat on his racecourse debut, and he can continue the excellent run of David Loder's horses.
