tracked leader, ridden to lead 2f out, ran on final furlong
led steady pace, quickened over 4f out, headed 2f out, kept on same pace
held up in rear, ridden along when outpaced over 3f out, one pace final 2f
held up behind leading pair, ridden and outpaced over 3f out, soon beaten
This appears to lie between Lords A Leaping and ACT OF KALANISI with preference for the Johnston trained runner. Waltzalong hasn't threatened in either start and appeals as the type to do better once handicapping whilst California Bright will need to leave her debut form well behind even allowing for the fact that the winner ran with credit in the Dante. Lords A Leaping has run creditably on both starts, showing improved form when third to one of Mark Johnston's at Lingfield. He wouldn't need to find very much more to open his account. Mark Johnston will have an idea of what will be required from his mount to lift this prize and there should be a deal of improvement to come from his charge who was as green as grass on debut despite being well backed beforehand. The penny did drop late on though so it's reasonable to expect much more from Act Of Kalanisi this time around.
