CAMPOS can make Tommy Stack's raid worthwhile though Janet's Pearl and White Fusion are worthy of more than just a passing interest. The colt has had two runs in Ireland thus far and on breeding should stay this seven furlong trip. This is the trainer's only runner at the meeting so he clearly isn't here for the bracing North Yorkshire air. Janet's Pearl was just 3000 guineas at the sales. She is stoutly bred so there should have been no surprise to see her go close in her most recent engagement at Beverley. White Fusion has already had the unkindest cut of all. He cost 68000 guineas at the sales and is a half-brother to a winning German sprinter. Marie Du Plessis is a half-sister to Gateman and Lady Jane Digby. Both of those horses were able to win as juveniles though undoubtedly were better for a winter on their backs. Red Oleander will make more appeal in nurseries whilst Phoenix Flame has a really eyecatching pedigree with next year in mind. The goalkeeping Campos was known for his craziness but a decision to back his namesake seems much more sensible here.
