Verdict

PEKANHEIM battled on well to score over half a mile further at Musselburgh in March and has followed that success with two solid runner-up efforts at Hexham. He is equally proficient over this trip and can take advantage of the 7lb received from the likely danger in Muwalla. The selection does handle soft ground but his chance would be improved if the rains stay away from the Lake District. Muwalla wins in his turn but the 5lb hike for his recent Sedgefield success may just prove too much, although he remains respected. Boss Des Mottes needs to improve on recent runs, Noble Call was better the last day and Endeavor is the one to monitor in the market as he's moving down the weights and is the only course winner on show here.
