      Verdict

      Lady Artiste scored easily at Thirsk last time but is upped in class off a higher mark for this. Nurpur looks to be treading water off her current rating while No Poppy is getting no closer to ending a long losing run. SIMPLY SHINING was sent off favourite at Newcastle but found Hakina Matata, who runs in the previous race, too good. The Fahey filly gets another chance in this ahead of Who's Shirl and Stosur, though the latter may figure if the ground turns soft. Top Dollar should do better this year but may need her first start since November.
