Verdict
Half of the ten runners are winners over the track and trip including Bromance, successful in this a year ago from a 2lb lower mark but beaten in all four subsequent starts on the track. Last year's victory came after a long break so the lack of a recent run shouldn't be a problem. Peter Niven also runs Metronomic, the winner of a lower grade contest here in June and of a Ripon seller last time. Lean On Pete also won her in June though that was over 1m4f in lower grade and he rarely operates away from Southwell these days. Bollin Ted is only 1lb higher than last summer's course and distance victory though ALMUNTHER looks to have more of a chance despite still being a maiden as he might have finished closer here last month but for being impeded at a crucial stage. Liquid Gold is just 1lb higher than last summer's victory here though hasn't been running well.
