Emperor's Well is taken to defy topweight, with Wild Power, Royal Racer and Donnas Double the main dangers. Mick Easterby's five-year-old bounced back to form when making all the running here six days ago and as he kept on really well, is capable of handling a six-pound penalty. He beat Time To Regret by two lengths and although now set to meet that rival on worse terms, is only lightly-raced this term and can improve again to follow up. He is once again drawn in stall five, but Terry Lucas had him out early and onto the far rail last time before dictating the pace and it should be a case of more of the same here. Wild Power has been plying his trade over hurdles for the past year, and judged on his two recent efforts on the level, will need further than this. Royal Racer battled on gamely to score at Folkestone and might be the one to take on the selection without being quite good enough, while Donnas Double came up against an in-form opponent in the shape of The Prince at Ayr, but this is a bit tougher. We shall rely on Emperor's Well to make all again.
