        Verdict

        Bishops Court looks the standout pick in this race although there is tough opposition in the form of Bahamian Pirate and Halmahera. Lynda Ramsden's old favourite has got the best draw possible on this day and with a new pair of hands on board, it's possible that the old stager can continue his remarkable record in sprint races. Bahamian Pirate unquestionably holds chances on his best form although connections no doubt have bigger fish to fry and he looks a 10lb better horse on softer ground. Halmahera ran a pleasing reintroduction at Beverley in April. He should have no problems on the ground and will give his usual best. Tedburrow is still capable on his day and makes his first foray to Beverley at the grand old age of thirteen. He has much to do from trap two. Colonel Cotton is dropped in grade from his flop in the Palace House Stakes while Vita Spericolata wont have far to go home but is up against it at this level. Bishops Court is our idea of the winner.
