Verdict
AVONVALLEY can put her experience to good use in this maiden and she is nominated over Dream Of Gerontius and Toga Tiger. The selection ran a race full of promise on her debut when chasing home Chicita Banana over this course and distance. She was slowly into stride that day so she did well to finish as close as she did and with that experience under her belt she can break her duck this afternoon. Dream Of Gerontius is one of two interesting newcomers from the Richard Hannon yard, the other is Avon River, and she certainly catches the eye on breeding. She could go well, especially if the market speaks in her favour. Toga Tiger is a well-bred colt from the Mick Channon yard and they have been firing in plenty of winners of late. However, his high draw will make life tough for him today. Quaker Parrot, Miss Gibbs, Slice and Tucker's Law are other newcomers that could go well, but in a race where the market may provide the clues we will side with Avonvalley as the pick.
