A competitive twelve furlong handicap to unravel here and from a shortlist of Mistress Eva, Force Group, Hawridge King and Mae Cigan, HAWRIDGE KING is taken to come out on top. Despite not appearing to hold anything on the assessor with a mark of 80, Hawridge King takes a marked drop in trip here having been competing over trips in and around two miles. The slight worry would be that he might be vulnerable to speedier types particularly being a hold-up performer. Mistress Eva hails from the Peter Winkworth yard that can do little wrong at present. She is 4lb higher for her Newbury victory and being lightly raced could just be beginning to grasp the nettle as such and getting to grips with the game as she is stepped up in distance. Force Group bids to turn the form of his Newbury clash with Mistress Eva around and it would be surprising if he proves up to the task as he looked to have few excuses last time. Mae Cigan is sliding down the weights and beginning to look attractively handicapped. He is dropping back in trip here and will relish any ease in the ground. At bigger prices Top Ticket has been shown some leniency by the handicapper and could go well while William's Way has not stepped up on an eye-catching effort earlier in the season in the ladies derby at Newbury. He is well weighted on the best of his form but he has been struggling of late. Hawridge King is selected to come home in front.
