Verdict

National Wealth followed a promising debut at Roscommon with an improved effort at the Curragh where he only succumbed in the closing stages. He should continue on the upgrade but Active Approach has been disappointing and never really looked like winning when a short-priced favourite at Killarney last week. Encantador has never been further than a mile and her recent good run at Leopardstown was over 7f while Stranagone, runner-up at Dundalk in December, was well beaten on her reappearance at Cork in May. Dermot Weld introduced a smart newcomer in Falcon Eight at the Curragh on Saturday and MUTAABEQ could follow suit. A son of Teofilo out of a Group 3 winner, he's related to several winners and this doesn't look the most difficult of starts.
