Emissaire won a bumper here on his debut a year ago but was well beaten on his hurdling bow at Perth in September. Dunly finished runner-up in three bumpers, two of them on this track, but hasn't been seen since a poor debut over timber here a year ago. Ride The Lightning has won three times on the Flat though all on artificial surfaces and hasn't raced since February of last year. BUSTER VALENTINE won a very moderate point-to-point in Ireland but must have impressed someone as he went for £100,000 at Doncaster Sales in May. He's been found a very soft race in which to make his debut over hurdles and can start repaying some of the outlay.
