A decent Listed contest for the track and Irish raider SUGAR FREE is given the nod ahead of Affluent, Cute Ass and Jargelle. The selection receives the age allowance and is dropped back in trip here, which may be a positive. She has just failed to pick up in the closing stages of recent races over 6f, but she clearly has ability and Tommy Stack might have found a good opportunity for her. Affluent will be popular after winning at Windsor last time over this trip. The assessor has put her up 10lbs for that success, meaning that strictly on the book she has to improve a fair bit more today. Cute Ass was runner-up in a course and distance handicap last time and she will probably give a good acccount once more, though she may just come up short on class. Jargelle scored at both Nottingham and Newbury as a juvenile and was even tried in the Cheveley Park last year. She was runner-up in this grade last time and has plenty of speed, so can make her presence felt. Percolator is top rated courtesy of a Group 3 win in France, but has a bit to prove after a poor reappearance effort and Sugar Free is the one for us.
