        Verdict

        HYDRANT scored over the course and distance last month and followed up over a mile at Thirsk on much softer ground. He's up another 4lb for this but has won off higher marks in the past and can complete a hat-trick. Silver Duke, runner-up to him here last month, is 6lb better off but has since disappointed at Hamilton. Another veteran, Gala Casino Star, hasn't won since completing a hat-trick in 2012 but has been running well enough from this sort of mark to be considered with Jordan Nason's claim a plus. San Cassiano has an excellent strike-rate of 10-64 and is a massive 14lb lower than his last victory at Newcastle in June but Lady Clitico, formerly with Charlie Swan, may need a run for new connections and looks a bit high in the weights.
