        Verdict

        EVANESCENT came to life at this time last year and won a division of this contest by six lengths before scoring again at Pontefract. He's taken to bounce back having dropped 13lb down the weights this season. Derbyshire is up 6lb for winning at Wolverhampton but is one of the less exposed and should go well again. But We'll Deal Again has yet to win over 7f and Chookie's Lass is another with something to prove over today's trip. Porthos Du Vallon has been well beaten since scoring over a mile here in July but Almanack and Patrona Ciana have both slipped back down to winning marks.
