Cinematic and Avoca Dancer are closely matched on their running behind Heureux at York last month with preference for the latter, who gets the vote ahead of Greek Secret. The last mentioned has shown a consistent level of form since making a disappointing debut and is again entitled to be thereabouts but may once more have to settle for a minor role. Bellsbank stepped up on her debut effort at Leicester last time and has claims if progressing again, while Charles Parnell showed promise first time out and cannot be ruled out on his second outing. Richard Hannon's Squadron Leader is probably better than his effort at Salisbury would suggest although a bigger threat is likely to come from Cinematic, who stepped up on debut form when a creditable third behind Heureux at York. The Mark Tompkins-trained colt finished just in front of the selection that day but Avoca Dancer showed a similar level of form behind the potentially useful Metropolitan Man back on the Knavesmire on his next start and, granted further improvement, he gets the vote.
