Dual bumper winner Burlington Bert has been well beaten in all four starts over hurdles and winning point-to-pointer Call Me finished behind him on his hurdling debut at Kelso last month. Irish raider CURIOUS TIMES was a 50/1 chance on his debut over timber in what looked a decent maiden at Down Royal. He was still in touch when falling at the second last and ,providing that hasn't affected his confidence, he can make amends. Le Gavroche attracted some support on his debut in a bumper here in October so should do better over hurdles but Mankala hasn't been seen since a well-beaten third at Newbury in April last year when trained by Oliver Sherwood. Saint Freule won a point-to-point in February and made a promising start over hurdles at Hexham but pulled much too hard here last month and weakened at the second last. Liam Lennon's raider Maureen's Star was beaten a long way here last month but Berkshire Down's form around this time a year ago would see her in contention though she needs further and hasn't run since April.
