In depth

Verdict

Cool In The Shade was an easy winner at Newcastle last week and should be thereabouts, despite a penalty. She had earlier won her maiden at Beverley with subsequent winner and today's rival Surely This Time a half-length behind. However, the latter re-opposes on better terms and may well reverse the form. The inconsistent Green Warrior could figure on a going day, but BLACK ANNIS BOWER makes most appeal. She came into her own in testing ground at this time last season, with wins at Newcastle and Nottingham, and gets the vote back on her preferred going for the first time since.
