In depth

Verdict

Lake Takapuna is looking a light of former days but he is very well treated on past form and Brian Hughes is back in the saddle. Ardera Cross is also in the veteran stage now but loves it here, though was pulled up last month when Rocco Storm ran out a ready winner. Wind surgery has transformed the latter but he will have to defy a further 7lb rise if he is record a fourth win in five starts. RITSON and Netywell were both winners last time but the latter needs the mud so the former can complete a double.
