Verdict

A Group 3 winner over 6f, The Antarctic looks worth a second look over today’s trip. Charlie Appleby has sent out the last two winners but Mysterious Night has been gelded and is fitted with a tongue-tie after struggling in the Craven on his reappearance. Covey goes from strength to strength but drops back down in trip along with the unbeaten Enfjaar. The latter’s stablemate Olivia Maralda beat Holguin and Streets Of Gold in a Listed race at Epsom but both Holloway Boy and stablemate Flight Plan found life tough in the 2000 Guineas. QUAR SHAMAR (NAP) finished a respectable sixth in the Irish equivalent when only fading in the final furlong. This shorter trip looks a logical move for Jessica Harrington’s colt and he gets the vote.
