This looks tricky with only a couple having had a recent run. Giant Redwood was tailed off on his comeback but Irish raider Torcedor should be sharper for an outing at Limerick and went close in Listed company last year. Astronereus won a Listed race over 1m6f at York in July and Oriental Fox won the Queen Alexandra over 2m5f here in June, though was due to run yesterday at Chester. SCOTLAND ran well in the Ascot Gold Cup when last in action but his fifth behind higher rated horses than these in the John Porter over 1m4f on last year’s reappearance is more relevant form and Andrew Balding’s charge gets the nod. Missed Call and Elite Army have both won over track and trip but the former has a tough task on these terms and the latter had just the one outing last term.
