Sparkling Smile's only defeat last season came when tried in Listed company over this C&D on her final start. She may need this, however, and is giving weight to a potential improver in the shape of BLISSFUL MOMENT. Sir Michael Stoute's gelding has only had five runs but managed to win at Windsor and Beverley last year and it will be disappointing if he can't land a nice prize off this sort of mark this season. Zuider Zee was fourth in the Melrose Stakes at York last August and will probably be seen to better effect in staying races this year but Spensley and Beaubrav both improved markedly on the all-weather over the winter and Udabaa's second at Newbury suggests he should win more races this year.
