An interesting opener where we will side with Vale De Lobo to have too much for Federstar and Etoile Russe. The Paul Nicholls-trained selection has the best hurdles form on offer in this field, and that was when winning comfortably on his recent Chepstow debut. He comes out again fairly quickly, which is probably a sign of his wellbeing, and as he didn't have a hard race there he looks capable of following up on the way to better things. Federstar was a winner despite the track and going being against him at Stratford in July, and according to his trainer he will be better suited by more juice in the ground and the longer straights here. Strictly on form he has a bit to find but there does look to be more to come. Of the remainder Gitche Manito has been running on the flat and achieved some respectable form, but it's likely he will improve over the sticks with Alan King handling him, while Etoile Russe comes from a yard bang in form, though he'd have to improve a fair bit to be good enough to win, and we will take Vale De Lobo to do just that.
