In depth

Verdict

Billaway bids for compensation having been just touched, for the second time, in last month’s Foxhunter at Cheltenham. Latenightpass, Mighty Stowaway and Ravished may struggle to reverse that form, despite the shorter trip. Tango De Juilley beat a subsequent winner over 2m at Leicester last month but had earlier proved no match for CAT TIGER over further at the same track. The latter jumped really well that day having a first run in this country over the larger obstacles and David Maxwell will be delighted to be back in the saddle of his French import, who has won a couple of Grade 3 chases at Auteuil and bids to become the youngest winner of this since 1979. Some Man is also interesting having won a canter at Down Royal under Brian O’Neill while Risk And Roll is still unexposed in this sphere.
