Carntop won over course and distance around this time last year. He is something of an enigma but only 2lb higher and had a prep race on the Flat at Royal Ascot. St Gallen should have more to offer and is still at the right end of the handicap with Extreme Force also unexposed. Dino Velvet has a touch of class and has his ground and the yard has been going great guns on the Flat. Empreinte Reconce was in good form around this time last year but would have appreciated more rain with VISION CLEAR (NAP) making more appeal. Though raised 4lb since his second at Kempton in February, he is still on a fair mark and shaped nicely on the Flat a couple of weeks ago.
