Verdict

Aidan O’Brien is triple handed seeking an 11th win in this fillies’ Classic. He has saddled the last three winners and SAVETHELASTDANCE is fancied to make it four in a row as one couldn’t help but be impressed by the way the imposing Galileo filly picked up to go clear in the Cheshire Oaks at Chester having briefly looked outpaced on the final circuit. Be Happy started favourite for the Oaks Trial at Lingfield but couldn’t cope with the all-weather specialist Eternal Hope, though still finished ahead of Bright Diamond. Running Lion easily completed a four-timer in the Pretty Polly but is upped in class again and the Gosdens may have stronger claims with the impressive Musidora winner Soul Sister, who holds Sea Of Roses on the form book. Heartache Tonight had useful form in France and is a half-sister to the stable’s top-class Wonderful Tonight so should stay this longer trip.
