Last year's Arkle winner to bypass Cheltenham Festival

Forpadydeplasterer will miss next month's Queen Mother Champion Chase following a minor setback. The gelding, who had been as low as 8/1 with Sky Bet for the two-mile feature race at Cheltenham, is reported to be lame and will not be ready in time for the festival. The eight-year-old landed the Arkle Trophy 11 months ago but will now be trained with Punchestown in April in mind. Charlie Chawke, head of the Goat Syndicate responsible for Forpadydeplasterer, told www.puntinplay.com: "I am sorry to inform everyone that Pady is lame and will be boxed for at least three weeks. "(Trainer) Tom Cooper says that this rules him out of Cheltenham and we are now more than likely looking at Punchestown. "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but hopefully there will be good times ahead again."
