Stormy Antarctic could make his seasonal reappearance in the Craven Stakes before embarking on a return trip to France in the quest for Classic glory.

Trainer Ed Walker may use the Group Three at Newmarket on April 14 as a stepping stone towards the French 2000 Guineas.

Stormy Antarctic was narrowly denied a hat-trick on his final start last year when upped to Group One company, finding only Aidan O'Brien's Johannes Vermeer too good in the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud.

Walker said: "Stormy Antarctic is seriously exciting.

"We were delighted, but a bit frustrated, with his last run in France, although it was great to see he is up to that level.

"He is wintering well and he could be possibly aimed at the Craven and then the French 2000 Guineas, as he seems to like cut in the ground, which he would get there, and hopefully he won't run into Air Force Blue.

"We will just see how he is going in the spring."
