David Simcock's impressive King Edward VII Stakes winner Balios will not run again this season.

The Newmarket handler is to give the three-year-old a lengthy break before mapping out a campaign for next year.

Since his victory in the Group Two at Royal Ascot, the son of Shamardal has failed to go on in either of his two subsequent starts, the most recent of which saw him finish sixth in the Great Voltigeur at York.
