Suits You won a thrilling Chesham Stakes to deny jockey Ryan Moore a record-extending 10th winner of the week in the opener on the final day of Royal Ascot.
The 14/1 shot collared long-time leader Sixth Sense (12/1) in the final half furlong and then out-fought fast-finishing 7/4 favourite Ballydoyle by a nose.
French-trained Suits You, by Irishman Eoghan O'Neill and ridden by Italian Christian Demuro, enjoyed a fairly untroubled run to the front on the far rail as Sixth Sense, who finished third, turned up the heat a long way from home.
Moore then started to get a real tune out of his Aidan O'Brien-trained market leader as he hit the rising ground and another victory seemed inevitable for the rider, who had set a new record for the Royal meeting of nine by winning the final race on Friday.
However, Suits You stuck his neck out for Demuro and the photo-finish went in his favour.
O'Neill, now based in France after leaving Britain for the greater prize-money on offer across the Channel, said: "It's brilliant. It's really lovely. It's great to come back and this our first Royal Ascot winner - it's terrific.
"He's very smart, he has been since February and I kept him for this race because as he's by Youmzain, he's gets in under the conditions of the race.
"It's just wonderful to be here and to win. He will run in France next and then come back for the Royal Lodge."
Demuro, who was also scoring his first win, added: "It's amazing, it's just unbelievable.
"The people screaming like that is just amazing."
O'Brien said of the runner-up: "She ran a great race, we're delighted as she's still a little bit babyish but she's getting better with each run. She'll have no problem getting a mile."
Sixth Sense's handler Mark Johnston said: "When he won at Pontefract (over five furlongs) we said he would be a Chesham horse and we were not too far wrong. I'm very happy with that.
"When he went clear inside the final furlong, I did wonder whether coming back to six furlongs would have been better but James (McDonald) said he was happy over seven furlongs, just the others stayed a little bit better."
