Favourite in good form

Simon Crisford, racing manager to Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation, reports Investec Oaks favourite Blue Bunting to be in good form ahead of Friday's race. The daughter of Dynaformer made her seasonal reppearance in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and leapt to the head of the betting for Epsom with a storming win. "We'd been really pleased with her over the winter and decided to run at Newmarket rather than in the Musidora at York," Crisford told At The Races. "It looked wide open so we took our chance as it's always been a good trial for Epsom. "She had the rail to help and was doing her best work at the finish, having got plenty of cover throughout, but she was impressive." The Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained three-year-old now heads to Epsom on Friday and connections are in confident mood as she bids to emulate Guineas and Oaks winner Kazzia, who completed the double in 2002 for the same connections. "We're very hopeful for the Oaks," said Crisford. "She hasn't done a great deal (since Newmarket) but she is very fit and her work has been very nice indeed."
