Saeed bin Suroor is looking forward to next year with Racing History and Beautiful Romance, who both outran their odds at Ascot on Champions Day.

Racing History stayed on into fourth on just the fifth outing of his life in the Champion Stakes, while Beautiful Romance finished one place closer in the Fillies & Mares Stakes.

"They all ran really well, but both Racing History and Beautiful Romance would have been better suited to the ground being softer," said Bin Suroor.

"Soft ground suits their actions, but I was still pleased with how they ran.

"They will both grow and be stronger next year. They haven't had many races and will be better horses next season.

"If they can run so well now, I'm confident that by this time next year they will have proved themselves to be very good horses.

"The Champion Stakes and the Fillies & Mares were top-class races."

Bin Suroor did not leave the meeting empty-handed, winning the closing Balmoral Handicap with Musaddas under an enterprising ride from apprentice jockey Eddie Greatrex.

"We'll just keep our options open yet," said Bin Suroor.

"He's come back sound, which is the main thing. He was very good, and we like him from the front. Even when he's on the gallops at home he prefers being out in front, but it can be hard to do it in a race.

"We told the jockey to be positive and it paid off."

Stablemate Hidden Gold finished fast to claim fifth in the Long Distance Cup but could have run her last race.

Bin Suroor said: "She came home well, but I felt compared to some in the paddock she didn't look great in her coat - it is hard for fillies at this time of year.

"She could be retired, we haven't decided yet."
