Wolfsburg came from behind to get the better of relegation-threatened Nurnberg 4-1 and move above Bayer Leverkusen into fourth place in the Bundesliga. Markus Feulner gave the visitors the lead, but two goals in three minutes from Ivica Olic and Ivan Perisic turned the game on its head. As a battling Nurnberg searched for an equaliser, Junior Malanda doubled the home team's advantage midway through the second half before Perisic grabbed his second and Wolfsburg's fourth of a dominant victory. Nurnberg knew they would need more than a draw at the VW-Arena, and this made for an open game with both sides clearly keen to take all three points. The Bavarians got off to a flyer too when Feulner put them in front in the eighth minute, skipping past Naldo and finishing into the bottom left-hand corner. Wolfsburg responded with had a string of chances, with Raphael Schafer able to match the efforts until the Nurnberg goalkeeper was ultimately beaten in the 19th minute. Kevin De Bruyne's diagonal ball was right into the path of Olic, who netted his 12th goal of the season from six yards. Before Nurnberg even knew what had hit them they had fallen behind, with De Bruyne once again the provider, this time for Olic's compatriot Perisic, whose composed finish beat Schafer. The industrious De Bruyne set up Olic for another big chance on the half-hour mark, but Schafer reacted quickly and was favoured by the Croatian's failure to bring the ball under control with only the keeper to beat. De Bruyne nearly got his own name on the scoresheet early in the second half, but Schafer somehow managed to keep the former Werder Bremen and Chelsea winger's shot out. Olic missed another good chance as Wolfsburg looked to finish off their guests, succeeding in the 69th minute when Malanda's accurate, low shot from outside the area beat Schafer. Nurnberg's heads dropped and Wolfsburg showed no mercy as they netted a fourth eight minutes from time, with former Dortmund midfielder Perisic scoring his second of the afternoon from Olic's pass to the far post. De Bruyne was again involved in the build-up. Vieirinha nearly rubbed salt in Nurnberg's wounds in the last minute, but his lob was cleared off the line acrobatically by Robert Mak.
