Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is focussing on narrowing the gap on Premier League leaders Chelsea

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is focusing on narrowing the gap on Premier League leaders Chelsea with seven games to go until the end of the season.

Despite being big outsiders to claim their first league crown for over a decade, Wenger, who has overseen a run of seven straight wins, is not ready to concede the title just yet.

He said: "We have a good team dynamic and hopefully we can maintain that until the end of the season. Then we will see where we stand. There is some distance between ourselves and Chelsea but we will work very hard to reduce that gap.

"We had a difficult start this season and we had many players out. Since then we have found our cohesion and we have moved forward.

"We all have difficult schedules and we must master our own schedule first and go as high as we can by the end of the season. We are in an important moment of the Premier League season and we are also in the semi-final of the FA Cup. We must focus to maintain our quality."

Arsenal travel to Burnley this weekend and Wenger is expecting another tough test. He said: "Burnley are quite efficient at home, therefore we have to make sure we produce the expected performance.

"You have to be at their level of physical performance and then we want to produce our level of technical performance."

Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby are all in contention for the trip to Turf Moor, while Laurent Koscielny and Wojciech Szczesny will face fitness tests.

Wenger said: “Koscielny will have a test on Thursday to see how far we can go. He has a scan yesterday which looked quite good. Szczesny also has a good chance to be available for Saturday.”
